Syzygium Northern Select is a cultivar of the Australian native tree species Syzygium australe, commonly known as the Brush Cherry or Creek Cherry. It is a member of the myrtle family (Myrtaceae) and is native to eastern Australia.
Syzygium Northern Select is a popular cultivar due to its dense foliage, which makes it an ideal choice for hedging and screening. It is an evergreen tree that can grow up to 8 meters (26 feet) tall and 5 meters (16 feet) wide, but it can also be pruned to maintain a smaller size. The leaves are oval-shaped, glossy, and a vibrant shade of green, providing a lush and vibrant backdrop to any garden or landscape.
In addition to its ornamental value, Syzygium Northern Select is also valued for its edible fruit. The fruit is small, dark red or purple, and has a sweet, slightly tart flavor. It is often used in jams, jellies, and other culinary applications.
