Portulaca Grandiflora (Purslane)

Portulaca grandiflora, commonly known as purslane or moss rose, is a low-growing annual succulent prized for its vibrant and prolific blooms. Belonging to the Portulacaceae family, this drought-tolerant plant features fleshy, cylindrical leaves and produces an abundance of cup-shaped flowers in a spectrum of colors, including pink, orange, yellow, and white. The flowers open in response to sunlight and close in the evening, creating a dynamic display. Purslane is well-suited for sunny, well-drained locations, making it an excellent choice for rock gardens, containers, or as ground cover. With its resilience and colorful blossoms, Portulaca grandiflora adds a cheerful and low-maintenance touch to gardens and landscapes.
