Furcraea foetida variegata Mauritius Hemp

Furcraea foetida 'Variegata' is a cultivar of the plant Furcraea foetida, also known as Mauritius Hemp or Variegated Giant False Agave. It is a variegated form of Furcraea foetida, featuring distinctive striped or mottled foliage, which makes it an attractive choice for ornamental gardens.

Furcraea foetida is a large, succulent plant native to the Caribbean and Central America. It typically forms a rosette of long, sword-like leaves that are green and rigid. However, the cultivar 'Variegata' displays creamy-white or yellow stripes or mottling on the leaves, providing a unique and eye-catching appearance.

'Mauritius Hemp' is often used as an ornamental plant in gardens and landscapes for its architectural form and variegated foliage. It can add visual interest to xeriscapes, arid gardens, or coastal gardens due to its tolerance to drought and salt spray. It is generally considered low-maintenance, making it suitable for various garden styles.
