Ficus lyrata, commonly known as the fiddle-leaf fig, is a species of tropical evergreen tree in the family Moraceae, native to western Africa. It is known for its large, violin-shaped leaves that are shiny and dark green.

The fiddle-leaf fig can grow up to 50 feet (15 meters) tall in its natural habitat, but it is commonly grown as an indoor plant where it can be kept to a smaller size. The plant has a single trunk with large, leathery leaves that can grow up to 18 inches (45 cm) long and 12 inches (30 cm) wide. The leaves have a distinctive veining pattern that adds to the plant's decorative value.

Ficus lyrata is relatively easy to care for, but it does require specific conditions to thrive. It prefers bright, indirect light.
